Heyuk Yethca

poyomi shukwin is an idea and a project that was founded by yokuts artists/cousins, Poyomi Mcdarment and Dani Curlin. Poyomi meaning pretty and shukwin meaning that it is fitting for one, being the two main focuses of this project. Making wear that is both pleasing to the eye and flattering for anyone. Though, we want these pieces to be more than just something to wear. we want them to be a source of confidence, pride, and maybe a teaching.

confidence in who you are and how you wear, pride in your body and where you come from, and a teaching for our fellow yokuts and other relatives following along.

All pieces past, present, and future are handmade and originally designed on yadanchi yokuts land with all women in mind and indigenous women in heart.
